FAQ
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective method to reduce unwanted hair. Our device uses concentrated light beams to target pigment in hair follicles, to reduce future growth. It is suitable for most skin types and hair colors.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
The results vary. Most clients see long term hair reduction after multiple sessions. Some hair may regrow over time, requiring occasional maintenance treatments.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people will need 6 – 8 sessions spaced several weeks apart to see significant reduction. However, the exact number of sessions depend on factors such as hair color, thickness, skin type, treatment area and the client’s underlying hormonal conditions (e.g., PCOS, hirsutism, or other endocrine-related hair growth).
For women with hormonal hair growth, additional sessions and ongoing maintenance treatments are often required to achieve and sustain results.
Does it hurt?
Laser hair removal with our device is designed to be virtually painless thanks to its advanced cooling technology, which keeps the skin comfortable throughout treatment. Most clients describe the sensation as a gentle warmth or subtle tingling as the laser works, rather than sharp pain. However, those with thicker hair or hormonal conditions such as PCOS may notice slightly stronger sensations during treatment. For sensitive areas, numbing cream is applied to ensure maximum comfort and tolerance, making the procedure well-suited for a wide range of clients.
Which areas can be treated?
We perform laser hair removal on almost any part of the body, including the full face, legs, arms, back, underarms, and bikini line. The only exceptions are the obvious areas such as the eyelids, and eyebrows, which are not safe for treatment.
Who is a good candidate?
Laser hair removal can safely treat a wide range of skin tones and hair types. However, blonde, white, gray, or red hair will not respond well to treatment because of the lack of pigment. The best way to know if you’re a good candidate is to schedule a consultation with us so we can assess your hair and skin type and recommend the most effective treatment plan.
What should I do before treatment?
4 weeks before your treatment begins: No waxing, no threading, no tweezing/plucking, no hair bleaching
1-2 weeks before your treatment begins: Avoid sun exposure or tanning, avoid chemical peels or using a strong exfoliant, avoid retinol products, and inform us of any tattoos in or near the area.
24 hours before your treatment begins: Shave the treatment area, avoid lotions, oils and deodorant and drink plenty water.
Day of treatment: Arrive with clean skin, do not wear makeup on facial areas to be treated (or remove makeup and cleanse skin prior to treatment), wear loose, comfortable and light colored clothing, avoid wearing perfume or any fragrance and scented products, and inform us of any medication changes.
What happens during the treatment?
During treatment, the area is cleansed and you’ll be given protective eyewear. The laser is then applied while the skin is kept taut for accuracy and comfort. Sessions are quick, just a few minutes for small areas like the upper lip, and up to about 45 minutes for larger areas such as the legs or back.
What should I expect after treatment?
After your appointment, you should avoid heat, saunas and sweating for 24 hours. Apply SPF or sunscreen daily on the treated areas. Under any circumstances, do not pick or scratch the treated area and continue shaving only between sessions. For treatment on the face, avoid exfoliating and using hard soaps for 48 hours.
Are there risks or side effects?
Laser hair removal is very safe, but some clients may notice temporary redness, mild swelling, or slight skin irritation after treatment. These effects usually fade quickly, and more serious side effects are rare.
What other important information I need to know?
For your safety and the best results, please let us know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking antibiotics or Accutane, have an active skin irritation or infection, recently experienced sunburn or tanning, have a history of keloids or photosensitivity, or have tattoos in or near the treatment area. Sharing this information helps us tailor your treatment plan and ensure it is both safe and effective.
Do I need to arrive with a clean face?
It’s perfectly fine if you don’t. We’ll take care of cleansing your skin during the treatment. However, if possible, we recommend avoiding heavy makeup before your appointment. While we have no problem breaking down makeup, skipping it helps us get started more smoothly and ensures your skin receives the full benefit of the facial.
What should I do after my facial?
Maintaining good skin goes beyond the treatment room. In addition to keeping your skin hydrated and applying sunscreen daily, we recommend:
- Getting a good night’s rest to support skin repair
- Avoiding alcohol consumption and smoking
- Limiting foods high in fats and sugars
- Not touching your face, especially with dirty hands
- Keeping your cell phone and bed sheets clean to reduce bacteria exposure
- Avoiding heavy makeup for several hours after treatment
How soon will I see results?
Most clients notice an immediate glow and smoother texture after one session. For lasting improvements, facials are recommended every 4 – 6 weeks.
What makes the PCOS Facial unique?
This treatment includes an anti‑inflammatory mask to calm irritation and reduce redness, along with a facial wax for smooth, hair‑free skin and better product absorption. The wax is especially beneficial for women dealing with unwanted facial hair due to hormonal changes. For clients seeking a longer‑term solution, we also offer laser hair removal treatments for the face as an additional option to help reduce and manage unwanted hair over time.
What are the benefits of the Anti‑Aging Facial?
This facial features radio frequency therapy to stimulate collagen production and deliver skin‑tightening benefits. Clients enjoy an immediate glow, with progressive improvements in firmness and elasticity after a series of treatments.
